About Melissie Jolly

"I was born in Kenya during an African uprising and often felt as if it never stopped. As a psychic and a sensitive, life was a series of uprisings until I discovered the healing power of colour.

I spent my life trying to work out what it was I was meant to be doing and went from studying psychology to art, frustrating myself around every corner until the colours burst into my reality.

Sadly it took me to the age of 42 before I knew what I was going to do when I grew up. But at that point everything suddenly made sense and all my studies could be utilised under the umbrella of colour. Now living at the southern most part of Africa, my life is peaceful, joyous and abundant and very very colourful.

I live in Stanford, near Hermanus, where the Southern Right whales come to birth their babies every September and I look at the mountains, which being a colour therapist, I turn pink every evening at sunset and I make the colours you see in the Colour Mirrors bottles. I energise them with African sunshine and love to mirror the magnificence of you."

Colourmirrors historie
The Colour Mirrors system was first developed by Melissie Jolly in South Africa during November 2001. Seven years later, in November 2008, the name Colour Mirrors appeared, and seemed so perfectly to reflect the next phase of the system that the name was changed at that time.

Melissie’s background and training has been in Psychology and Fine Art. She noticed how people changed when working with certain colours and felt drawn to using colour analysis. Melissie worked for 10 years with a colour system from England before creating the Colour Mirrors system. Colour Mirrors has simplified and made accessible the use of Colour Analysis to anyone who wishes to be supported by or trained in the use of Colour Therapy.

The first set of bottles to be created were numbered 1 to 33. Melissie says that this set felt as if it had been sitting wrapped around her heart and that it sprang fully formed into existence. The colours had virtually created themselves and although the temptation to make 'pretty' colour combinations was huge, Melissie knew that these bottles needed to be specific colours to connect with each of the numbers.
